May 2009 56th Texas Tour Car Show at Fredericksburg, Texas : My neighbor and good friend, Terry Jones, and I attended this car show in Fredericksburg, Texas on May 29, 2009. One of the exhibitors in the show, Colin Hiley, is a personal friend of Terry's. We located his 1930 Franklin early in the day. This show was held in Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park in Fredericksburg. Unlike most of my SmugMug albums, I put every picture I took directly into this album with zero photo editing for lighting, crop, etc. I have added captions to identify each car's make and model year. (On a couple of cars, I was not positive of the year; in those cases, any one viewing these pics is invited to comment on your guess on the model year.)

Great Race Texas 2006 San Marcos Stop : This group of cars is engaged in a carefully timed rally, not a race. They have stopped overnight in San Marcos many years, including April 2006. At the end of each rally day, the group stays at a designated city, with a designated group assembly area. In San Marcos, that assembly area is the Hays County Courthouse square. Each competitor has an assigned parking place, with a local sponsor. People like me go there to view the cars, take pictures, and talk to the driver-and-navigator teams.

Blanco Texas Car Show, May 2007 : My brother and I attended the 19th Annual Blanco Texas Classic Car show on May 19th, 2007. These pictures were made at the show, which is always held along the banks of the Blanco River in Blanco State Park. How lucky we are to have this great spot for a car show!

Central Texas Auto Museum; Pictures from April 2006 Visit : This outstanding museum of automotive history is located near Rosanky, Texas, which is near Bastrop, Texas. It is a delightful place to view many outstanding exhibits of automobiles. I visit there often. My last visit was when I took these pictures. Since it is indoors, virtually 100% of these pics are flash pics. I photo-edited many of them for lighting improvement. There is a nice gift shop there too.

Daytona 500 Race trip, February 1999 : Matha and I flew to Orlando from San Antonio, rented a car and drove to Daytona for the 1999 Daytona 500. We had a race-week package deal, which included; tickets for the Saturday NAPA Auto Parts Busch race, tickets for Sunday's Winston Cup Daytona 500, hospitality suite privileges, and reserved parking.
